Any water filter we assess should meet basic specification requirements so as to remove contaminants found in water.

Because this is often presented to us in technical terms we may get confused and take pot luck with our choice. In other words we may think that we will have to accept poor performance to some extent because in someway it’s true capabilities will be camouflaged in all the technical hype.

Hype it may seem, but this information is important and should make it easier for us to assess the product. Sadly this is not always the case so we need as far as possible to keep it simple.

The first thing we should ascertain is the specification sheet that lists all the contaminants that the suppliers water filters can remove.

Any waffle and be cautious!

Any water filters of merit should be able to filter out a wide range of contaminants at anywhere 98% to 99.9% depending on what the contaminant is.
