Durham CPR Classes

Many occupations in the central North Carolina area require people to take CPR classes, such as when becoming an Emergency Paramedic (EMT), firefighter, life guard or police officer, among others. Becoming certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Durham CPR classes are also a step many people have to take for various other reasons as well. For example, if someone has sleep apnea, a loved one may want to take classes in the case that someone with apnea stops breathing in the middle of the night. Most Durham CPR classes will not only instruct a person in the technique required to administer CPR properly, but they will also instruct a person in basic first aid as well. Anyone wishing to become adept in giving CPR can take a class and people from the public sector are not required to obtain a certification, only those in certain occupations need certifications.
All Durham CRP certification classes need the people learning to attend an instructor led class. The instructor will offer videos and one-on-one instruction on how to apply chest compressions and breaths. The person learning Durham CPR certification will then show their learned skills on a test dummy rigged with sensors in the chest and lung areas, The sensors will show if that person is administering CPR right and if not, will alert him or her to what he or she is doing wrong. He or she then goes over his or her learned skills again until the person can administer the CPR right on the test dummy. Once that person can prove he or she can properly give CPR, he will receive a card s attesting to the fact. Visiting the American Hear Association’s website will help to find CPR classes close to home that are convenient and safe.
