I had a few Barbie’s that I played with as a child, but I was never really that into her and her friends. They were fun on occasion, but I didn’t get into them like some of my other friends. This was probably because I was a tomboy, and was more interested in playing outside, building forts, and riding my bike. I was really surprised that my daughter, who shows many of the same interests that I had when I was young, asked me if she could get a female halloween costumes.

You want to know what else? One of the greatest aspects of this holiday is the attire. Just take a moment this Halloween to check out all the wonderful costumes. I’ll bet you see everything from a werewolf, to Leatherface, to a dog, to a dragon, to a Beauty and the Beast costume. The variety is priceless. Sort of like with the candy.

My neighbors, Barbie and Ken, are just tickled pink whenever someone makes a comment about how they fit the roles of being the perfect couple. She giggles hysterically and shrugs it off but you can see her holding back her glowing smile. She loves the attention. Her husband is much more down-to-earth. You don’t really have to tell your children that Barbie and Ken are divorcing or even worry about what to tell your kids. They are simply dolls.
