Stress is a condition where both the mind and body and the reasons of which varies from person to person. There are also different types of stress namely internal stress, survival stress, environmental stress, etc. and each one of it has a great impact on the human body. Stress, when in intolerable levels takes a heavy toll on one’s health and brings about different complications. On the whole, a stressed out person finds changes in the health as well as the behavior.
Some of the symptoms of stress are irritability, frustration, inability to concentrate, negative self talk, mood swings, memory problems, sleeplessness, back and neck pain, etc. In order to deal with stress, one must keep in mind the various signs and symptoms of stress so that it can be detected on time and the necessary measures can be taken. There are different treatments available for relieving stress out of which the employment of stress balls can be done without the help of anyone.

The function of the stress balls is to bring a state of calm and relaxation to the body by removing the focal point of stress and anxiety. These balls may not necessarily be spherical and they are available in different shapes. There are also those that vibrate with different textures. The size of a stress balls are usually less than a tennis ball whose inner portions are composed of polyurethane gel or foam giving them a semi soft texture.
How they help in relieving stress
- Distraction: They are usually squeezed with your hand when the concentration of the person using them is shifted towards the ball from other tension and anxiety causing matters.
- Meditation: Meditation being one of the important methods of relieving stress can be performed using the stress balls. When the ball is tightly squeezed and the let go off, the muscles of the arms are relaxed especially when the whole of your focus is on the ball.
- Easy work out: The action of squeezing the ball for a particular period of time makes a good exercise not only for the mind but for the body as well. The flow of the blood to different parts of the body is possible and there is also a fresh supply of oxygen to the brain which results in a stress-free you.
- Healing Property: Apart from relieving stress, the stress balls are also known for treating pain in the joints and other repetitive use injuries too.
However, these stress balls are not meant for the children aged less than three and are to be kept away from them.
