As we find ourselves staring down the barrel of yet another Christmas, so the want, want, want, lists start coming out for Santa, AKA the parents. Long gone are the days where there were no requests, just pure gratitude for whatever lay at the bottom of that festive stocking. Nowadays of course, if it’s not an iPod it’s apple’s iPads, and Smartphones in place of cell phones. Kid today won’t just be looking out for a generous Xmas prepaid cell phones but all the bells and whistles and interactive features that Mum & Dad can stuff into that stocking too.

The greedy behaviour witnessed by today’s youth is not just one generation moaning about the other as has always been the case, but a real change in moral values and attitude towards life. Unfortunately, this behaviour of throwing the dolly out of the pram (figuratively speaking of course), is one which follows them into adulthood, hence the emergence of the shopping societies that we’ve been seeing for the past 2 generations.

All take and no give is, in the opinion of many, a race that is heading backwards in its evolution.
